Hoshizora (星空, meaning "starry sky" in Japanese) began as one of those "I need this right now" weekend project moments as a developer. While working on a GitHub repository, I found myself wanting a simple, elegant way to showcase the stargazers and supporters — those people who take a moment to appreciate your work with a click of a star — like a nagareboshi (流れ星; shooting star) in the starry sky.

There are plenty of GitHub badges and widgets out there, but sometimes you want something that feels more personal or do some exploration. That's when Hoshizora was born - a simple service that transforms your repository's stargazer data into beautiful generated SVG cards.

See it in action in one of my repository in GitHub. (It's the Stargazer card)

2025年10月10日 — What started as a quick weekend project to scratch my own itch has grown into something I'm genuinely excited about.
The name "Hoshizora" felt perfect because each stargazer and sponsor is like a star in the vast sky of open source.
